Want to run to make a difference? We are actively recruiting cyclists to join #TeamOrangutanChampions 🦧 for the 2027 Etape Loch Ness.
You can be a part of the UK’s largest closed road cycle and support our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release Bornean orangutans into protected rainforests or sanctuary islands, by securing one of our charity places for this 360 route around stunning Loch Ness.
Race date is 25th of April 2027, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer charity places for the cyclists among our orangutan fans.
Charity place holders are expected to fundraise on our behalf. For details contact community@bos-uk.org.

Here’s what past participants in challenge events have said about why they wanted to support saving orangutans:
- “Why them? Well… our love for animals meant we stumbled across BOS UK, and seeing the amazing work they do, we knew we had to support their cause.”
- “I adopt a little orangutan called Bumi through BOS UK, and I’ll be imagining his little orange hand pulling me along if my legs get tired.”
- “…a recent study estimated that over 100,000 orangutans have been killed in just the past 17 years as their forest home is logged and burned primarily for the production of palm oil. The only reaction to this shocking news is to do something, don’t despair, act! Help us help them!”
Habitat destruction and climate change are just two reasons why it’s a race against the clock to save orangutans from extinction. Our challenge event supporters help us raise much needed funds and draw attention to the mammoth problem our ginger cousins are facing. That’s a big win for orangutans.
